Emil Isidorovich Marcovitch (1894-1981) joined Rossica in 1937 (membership number 681). Around 1954 he became an Honored Member of our Society. Marcovitch was a collector of Russian vignettes, non-postal and advertisement stamps, and foreign Russia-related labels. His catalogs and photocopies of his collection are still a valuable source of information for erinophilia collectors. In addition to his philatelic interests, Marcovitch was an accomplished portrait photographer in Paris. Presently, approximately 80 of his portraits of various famous artist, political figures and royalty are being offered at auction. For anyone interested in the artistic work of our Honored Member E. Marcovitch here is the link: http://baronribeyre.com/html/index.jsp?id=92453&lng=fr&npp=1... . His photos begin with lot number 68. Incidentally there are quite a few other intersting historic Russian photographs on sale there as well. Take a look.
