Unknown variety of Lenin's Death Issue-Scott 294-301
Rossica Journal 151, Fall 2008, page 90, figure 10, described a flaw in the 14 k stamp of this issue both perforate and imperforate (Scott 295 and
299) where there is a broken frame under the P in Kopeck. I am adding the 7 Kopeck stamp both perforate and imperforate (Scott 294 and 298) with a
similar flaw. The frame brake is directly under the P. However it is more prominent and extends into the bottom of the P. I also have the 14 Kopeck
stamp, perforated, with the previously described flaw. The bottom flaw on the 7 Kopeck is so prominent I wonder how it could have been missed for so
many decades?

Lenin Death Issue continued
Jeff, currently my scanner is non operational. Tried to scan prior to posting. Will reinstall scanner and retry. An additional note:all stamps
with flaws were noted only on the thin paper variety of this issue.

I would be very interested to include this in next FlySpecker 153 (it is due in couple weeks) as an update to original Rossica FlySpecker 151 article.

I wonder if this is the flaw described in the SC catalog - Vol 5 - 1923-1940?
Their image shows a large white 'dot' centered directly under the 'P' in Kopeck. This catalog also indicates that it occurs in both the perf and the
imperf stamps.

Another variety referenced in the SC catalog (not illustrated) is the following: 'dot' above the '7' (9th stamp in the sheet):

Another couple of minor flaws on the 40k perforated stamp:
- small spot to the left of the building top
- small white spot to the left of the person just above head level

Yet another variety?
Lightish spot to the left of the '7'.

Further examples of issue flaws
All stamps shown are on thin paper of this issue. The first stamp has a fine line beginning outside the left upper margin (poorly reproduced),
diagonally crossing the top of steeple of the Kremlinand and ending in the right upper marginbeyond the design. On the second stamp a similar thin
line is seen diagonally behind the guard and extending upward through the right upper corner of the frame the second stamp. The second and third
stamps show the major white spot under the letter P. This is accompanied in each stamp by a small, dark vertical blemish in the middle of the upper,
inner frame. The fourth stamp shows a similar flaw below the P but much smaller.
