1872 registered letter

Along with the introduction of postcards, 1 Jan 1872 marked the introduction of franked, registered mail in imperial Russia. I don't wish to intrude here on the argument regarding the exact status of value items and such sent before this time, whether they were registered or not. Suffice it to say, procedures changed at the beginning of 1872, and franked, registered items become a possibility.

The 17 December 1872 letter sent from Elionskoe, Starodub U.,
Chernigov Gubernia shown below is the earliest such registered item I've seen. The 25k franking is made up of: 10k for the letter, 10k for registration and 5k for proof of posting.

Surely, there are older registered items, from earlier dates in 1872. Can anyone produce one?

That qualifies as jaw-dropping. One amazing thing is that this is reg'y #2. Someone sent out another registered
letter earlier in the day.
