Railway Postmarks Exhibit

A fascinating exhibit by Mr Levandovskiy!

Regarding his 1899 provisional registration label from Kharkov railway station (Frame 6, page 13), I wanted to show a similar example from my collection:

0002-17.jpg - 406kB

0001-22.jpg - 357kB

Mailed on February 14th, 1899 (by the same sender as Mr Levandovskiy's cover) to Philadelphia, USA (backstamps of New York and Philadelphia of 11th and 12th of March). The cover is franked at 40k with 35k and 5x1k Arms: 2x10k for double weight charge (notice large manuscipt "2" on front) + 10k for registration + 10k for Avis de Reception (notice insciption in French and Russian at left).

My cover shows a different c.d.s from the one on Mr Levandovskiy's cover:

0003-17.jpg - 117kB

Notice the different inscription: "KHARKOV ZHELEZNODOROZHNOE / POCHTOV. OTD. / 1" (in red the differences in my postmark). Diameter of postmark: 27.5 mm.
