1948 40 kop definitives

Seasons Greetings to one and all! I recently sorted through a bunch of 40 kop "coat of arms "defins and finally found a type 1b used. The type 1s seem like rare birds to me. The catalog says "1$" can someone give me some idea of this stamp's rarity...or not...This is the 1st one Ive ever seen! Im really curious. AND MANY THANKS to Mr Mirsky and Waterman for the article (last journal issue)

Hello Dave,

Glad you liked the article. Stamp you found is not very scarce, but finding all various types and sorting them out is a challenge. Good luck! The only really scarce and expensive stamp there is a typo stamp described in Section III of the article.
