Elongated oval postmark on Scott 23
Attached are scans of a blue, elongated postmark on Scott 23.
I can find no reproductions of a similar postmark. Any suggestions?

I don't think it's a postmark. Some companies "tied" the stamps on their envelopes with a company cachet, presumably to prevent the stamp being
removed from the envelope. Those cachets are most often across the lower third of the stamp.
I'm attaching (I hope!) an example of this practice from Riga.
