Flyspecker 166-Size Matters, Scott 81. Additional information

Rossica, Spring 2016 contained an article on size matters discussing the 15K, Scott 81.

The authors did not reference two past articles in Rossica featuring detailed description of the large die,15 K (Scott #81) and its imperforate companion #125.

Further information on this large die issue can be found in the following: Rossica, Spring 2007, #148, pages 41-42- Russia: The 15 Kopeck, Scott #81 and #125, Re-engraved or large Die Variety and and comments by R. Sklargevski on the large die in Rossica, 1963, #64, pages 17-18. These can easily be referenced in the Rossica archives.

As previously noted in Rossica it would be of great assistance to all members if a master index of past articles was available. However this is a massive undertaking for a volunteer organization.

cec71, we actually used to have an index of the journal online. Many years ago, Ed Bubis helped me document and catalog each journal with title, author, journal information, categorization of each article (i.e. period of history, focus of research, etc.). that was searchable. Unfortunately, the application we used was hacked and had to be removed from the website. It was a useful tool for anyone that wanted to do what you did above - find relevant articles for specific topics. Maybe we can reinvigorate the project and get it back online. It will have to be a brand new project, however.
