Roman numeral IIII instead of IV

The attached image shows a Moscow postmark in which the month is indicated as a Roman numeral "IIII" and not the usual "IV." I have not noted this usage for any other location to date. Can any person show a similar usage f the "IIII" from another location?

Thanks

Gary, I found another example. Unfortunately not from another location, but from Moscow as well. However, mine is more recent, 1909. If it is useful to you, please copy it to your hard drive.

Kionpie,

I have many strikes from Moscow with the "IIII." However, your mark from the Town Post Dispatch Office is very nice. Thanks a million.

Perhaps this item will help explain. Illustrated here is a POW card with an arrival (erhalten) mark in German. Note the hours on the dial to the left. "4" = "IIII"

Enjoy
