What do you use as a color guide?
For many years now I have wondered about what to use as a true color guage. It finally needed serious clarification yesterday when looking at Scott #
264. Scott calls the stamp slate-gray. Stanley Gibbons calls it grayish slate. Michel calls it gray and Lapin calls it slate-gray. Yet if I use a
color chart published by any color producer beit Stanley Gibbons, paint companies or any other color producers, I never get a color close to gray.
Unless the attached picture is a proof of some kind and all the others I have are the same color, someone has a strange idea of what slate gray
is.
By the way, looking at the picture here, the color doesn't come through as well as I would like. It is a lot more blueish.
