Far Eastern Republic
The latest area for digital forgeries is the Far Eastern Republic. The first from this area was the 1 R perf, S.G. 31. Three single copies were sent
to me over a year ago from Rossphil for an opinion. I rejected them as forgeries and returned them to Russphil without a certificate but prepared
Forgery certificates for APS and Rossica. OIt was about a year later that I re-examined them as I had noticed that all three were identical in every
respect -almost imposssible for forgeries to be so alike. I then realised why they were so alike and examined them at 120 x magnification which
confirmed they were digital copies of a forged FER overprint on a late printing of the 1 R. perf. stamp. The first recorded FER digital forgery.
About six weeks ago a Rossica member bid for a mint set of FER overprints on kopeck Arms Type stamps. He was the successful bidder at way below
catalogue price and sent them for me for an opinion. One of the stamps, FER printed on reverse only, (a rarity indeed if genuine). All the overprints
were identical and digital. This is the second recorded digital forgery of the FER. In addition, each stamp had an identical Ross signature on the
back. These too were digitally produced, not handstamped. I produced three forgery certificates for our member. It turns out that the seller was
Rossphil. I alerted the seller who claimed ignorance and said he would withdraw the stamps from e-Bay.... The buyer tells me he has contacted e-Bay
and Rossphil, with copies of the certificates, and requested his money back. As far as I know he has had no joy with either Rossphil or e-Bay. I will
keep members informed of any progress.

The good Dr. is back with a new name
This seller has now changed names again to
alexirma98
Now there is a new twist to his antics. He includes the German words:
"Der Artikel wird von Privat verkauft. Ich übernehme keine Garantie und Gewährleistung."
Using an Internet translator, I get the following:
"The article is sold by private. I do not take over warranty and a guarantee."
I can translate that to mean he is selling "as is" and the buyer is on his/her own.
BUYER BEWARE

He is less active now on e-Bay and at least some of his material is genuine. I have not come across forged certificates for a number of years now. Use
caution when buying from this source and seek advice from other Rossica members.
