Chemically altered?
The pair of stamps here, Scott #4418 photogravure on gold foil, are interesting. The stamp on the left displays all the colors and words to include
the value. The stamp on the right is missing all the colors and is a bright shiny silver in color. The design can be seen, but none of the words in
the lower portion.
Is this a chemical changling?
Just curious

Gary,
I am surprised no one responded. The answer is "Of course it is chemically altered." I have some household products that will do this easily. Someone
want a silver stamp that is suppose to be gold?
