Monetary reform of 1961

What happened to pre-1961 stamps after Soviet monetary reform was introduced January 1, 1961? I know that between January 1 and March 31 both new and old money were valid. I just bought a domestic registered postcard sent in December 1961 and franked with a 60 kop. stamp of 1946 (!) and a 4 kop. stamp of 1961, which makes up the correct rate of 10 (new) kop. if the 1946 stamp is counted. Has anyone seen other items with mixed franking?

You should find much useful information on the web page: http://www.sijtzereurich.nl/rouble_of_1961.html

Thanks, I've picked up a couple of items with mixed franking since posting the question. Interestingly, I have a registered postcard franked with old stamps that went through mail in December 1961. Apparently, postal clerks were not very diligent about this.
